Ockenden Prize 2022 for Innovative Solutions for Internally Displaced People | Eligibility | Prize | How to Apply

This is a three-year refugee studies fellowship at Oxford University that aids refugees or displaced people and honors Ockenden International’s founder Joyce Pearce.

Furthermore, the cash prizes recognize and reward innovative work that fosters self-reliance for refugees and/or internally displaced people anywhere in the world.

Additionally, its objective is to receive young East European people from post World War II homeless persons’ camps in Germany and to provide for their maintenance, clothing, education, recreation, health and general welfare.

Selection Criteria

  • Firstly, a Projects that promote self-reliance among refugees and/or displaced people.
  • Secondly, projects that proves to be highly effective in improving the lives of refugees and/or displaced people.
  • Thirdly, projects that have led to real change in the lives of refugees and/or displaced people.
  • Lastly, effective initiatives, with measurable evidence of outcomes.

Eligibility

  • Organisations can submit one entry only in each prize year but can reapply in future years if unsuccessful.
  • The project must benefit refugees and/or displaced people with a strong emphasis on promoting self-reliance.
  • The organisation must be able to show that the project has been effective with measurable evidence of positive outcomes.
  • The project entered must be up and running before 1 April 2019, six months prior to the launch date for the 2019 Prizes.
  • Organisations must have high standards of financial and administrative governance

Note

  • They may ask the organisations to provide references or other evidence of the project and their financial and administrative governance during the short-listing process.
  • Payment of price money will only be to a bank account held in the organisation’s name.
  • The organization should used the prize money to help refugees and/or displaced persons in need.
  • Prize winners will provide information to Ockenden International about the projects and the use of prize money.
  • Submission of entry means that the organisations agree the rules.
